The Ministry of Education and Training informs about the progress of reviewing textbooks for 4 subjects
In the 2025 - 2026 school year, schools will still use selected textbooks; the revision of the general education program will start from the 2026 - 2027 school year. The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has published a draft Circular amending and supplementing the General Education Program to collect public opinions, in order to suit changes in administrative boundaries and the model of local government at 2 levels.
The amendment focuses on 4 subjects: History and Geography (grade 4 - 9), Geography grade 12, History grade 10 and Civic education grade 10. The Ministry of Education and Training has issued 4 orientations: minimizing the need to revise the textbook; correct inaccurate content; update according to administrative and constitutional changes; if the textbook has to be revoked, all limitations of the relevant layer will be adjusted. The adjustment content includes knowledge about the political system, Constitution, History - law, regional boundaries, maps, population and historical periods.
The Ministry of Education and Training will organize training, instruct teachers and review textbooks to comply with the new program. HCMC plans to open early school for students in grades 1, 9 and 12 from August 18
Students in grades 1, 9 and 12 are expected to graduate in the 2025-2026 school year on August 18, and the remaining groups will graduate on August 25.
The content was submitted by the Department of Education and Training (DET) to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the 2025-2026 school year schedule. The city-wide opening ceremony will take place on September 5.
Previously, on August 11, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a time frame for the 2025-2026 school year for preschool education, general education and continuing education.
