Tr Trieu lacks books, principals in Gia Lai go online to ask for support
The 2025-2026 school year has begun, but nearly 60% of students at Dak Somei Primary School (Gia Lai), mainly children of the Ba Na and Mong ethnic groups, still lack textbooks, and almost no students in any class have enough sets of books. Faced with this situation, Principal Nguyen Xuan Luan posted on social media, calling on schools and donors to support.
After the information was shared, many individuals and units joined hands to donate, helping the school overcome the shortage of books. However, there are still about 300 books missing in the subjects of Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts and English. Due to difficult economic conditions, parents could not afford to buy books for their children, so many classes had to arrange 2-3 students to study together.
The newly established school library does not have a source of books, while the budget is only enough to pay for teachers' salaries and allowances. The local government said it would soon check and have a support plan to ensure that students' studies were not interrupted. See more...
