Principal's case of collecting bonuses from teachers: Reviewing the responsibility of the head
After the reflection that teachers of Dinh Bang 2 Kindergarten (Tu Son ward, Bac Ninh) were required to return a portion of the bonus money according to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP, Tu Son Ward People's Committee quickly intervened to verify. The results showed that the school collected bonus money from teachers, so the Ward People's Committee requested the principal to review the responsibility of the head.

Tu Son Ward People's Committee also directed the school to organize a collective meeting of leaders and all teachers to refund the entire amount collected. By the evening of January 29, the entire amount had been refunded to teachers; functional agencies continued to be assigned to consider and handle the responsibilities of related individuals according to regulations.
Previously, many teachers were upset about the principal's request for each person to return 4.4 million VND in bonuses on the grounds of spending on sightseeing funds and foreign affairs expenses. In the context of low income for preschool teachers, the State's bonus is a great source of encouragement during Tet, so the collection has caused psychological frustration, hurt and created negative public opinion in the teaching staff. Teachers ask to raise scores for students, insiders confide
After the incident of teachers intervening in students' papers and scores in Gia Lai and Thanh Hoa, it has sparked many debates in public opinion. Regardless of the reason, the act of correcting papers and raising scores has caused teachers to lose the trust of parents and society, going against the spirit of honesty in education.
Sharing from teacher Nguyen Van Luc - a teacher with 38 years of service - shows that the pressure of achievement once made him proactively ask to raise scores for excellent students of his class, a job that he is still concerned about to this day. In fact, according to some teachers, "asking for scores" is very rare but still happens, mainly due to emulation pressure, the number of excellent students and year-end evaluations for teachers.
OECD's TALIS 2024 survey results show that more than half of Vietnamese teachers are under pressure regarding student achievements. Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Education and Training has proposed solutions to reduce administrative burdens, support teachers and aim for real learning, real exams, and real assessments. Teachers all agree that only when achievement pressure is reduced can teachers focus on their profession and maintain professional ethics. See more...

Kinh Bac University stops training, lecturers are upset, students are worried
The fact that the Rector of Kinh Bac University issued Notice No. 46/TB-ĐHKB on temporarily suspending all training activities has caused great concern for lecturers and students, when the teaching and learning plan is interrupted. Many opinions want to have direct dialogue with the document signing person to clarify the cause and handling direction, in order to ensure the learning rights and graduation progress of students.

Faculty lecturers believe that the suspension of training seriously affects the approved curriculum, especially for majors that require practice such as traditional medicine and articulated students, working and studying at the same time. Representatives of the school's Party Cell affirmed that the act of an individual with the title of Principal arbitrarily issuing a decision to suspend training without a resolution from the School Council or competent authorities is not in accordance with legal regulations.
According to Lawyer Bui Xuan Lai (Hanoi Bar Association), the root cause of the incident stems from the legal loophole related to the "legitimacy" of the title of Principal, because the school council of the old term has expired, and the new term has not completed the procedures. The Ministry of Education and Training has concluded that the previous appointment of the Principal was not in accordance with regulations, so the continued signing of documents with this title is not only contrary to the direction of the Ministry but also causes confusion and directly affects the rights of lecturers and students.
