On January 30, in an exchange with reporters, a representative of Tu Son Ward People's Committee (Bac Ninh province) provided information related to the case of a teacher accusing the principal of forcing him to return half of the bonus money, causing a stir.
Accordingly, on January 29, after receiving feedback related to the fact that teachers of Dinh Bang 2 Kindergarten were having part of the bonus money collected according to Decree No. 73/2024/ND-CP, the Standing Committee of Tu Son Ward Party Committee directed the Ward People's Committee to establish a working group to verify the incident.
The working group directly worked with the leadership and teachers of Dinh Bang 2 Kindergarten.
Verification shows that there is a collection of a portion of teachers' bonuses at the school.
To handle the case, Tu Son Ward People's Committee requested the Principal of Dinh Bang 2 Kindergarten to report on the self-criticism of the head related to the above incident.
At the same time, the school must organize a collective meeting of leaders and all teachers at 5:30 pm on the same day, January 29, to refund the entire amount collected from teachers. By 6:20 pm on the same day, the entire amount had been refunded to teachers.
Tu Son Ward People's Committee also assigned the Ward Culture - Society Department to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to consider and handle the responsibility of officials according to regulations.
Previously, public opinion reflected that many teachers of Dinh Bang 2 Kindergarten angrily said that after receiving bonuses according to Decree 73 of the Government by bank transfer, the school principal requested all teachers to return 4.4 million VND in cash.
The money is said to be deposited into the sightseeing fund for the teachers themselves and spent on some "sensitive content", the school's foreign affairs.
At meetings, when there were opinions that the repayment amount was too high and unreasonable, Principal Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan loudly scolded "don't be too greedy" and said that this was not teacher's money but a "drop from the sky".
Many teachers shared that with the meager salary of preschool teachers, this bonus from the State is a great source of encouragement and sharing. Many people have had enough plans to spend this bonus for the upcoming Lunar New Year of their families.
Therefore, having to return the bonus money makes them very upset.
