Ho Chi Minh City proposes handling misinformation about first-grade enrollment
On July 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) sent a document to the City Police requesting coordination and strict handling of social media groups posting false information, inciting parents to gather crowds causing insecurity and disorder related to the enrollment work at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, through recording people's feedback, as well as monitoring information on social networking sites and groups recently, the Department has found that there are some inaccurate and unverified contents related to the enrollment work at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year, causing public confusion and affecting social trust in the education sector.

The Department said that the initial enrollment work for the 2026-2027 school year is being implemented in wards, communes, and special zones (commune level) according to the plan of the City People's Committee. However, recently, on many pages and social networking groups on Facebook under the name of the parents' association and the parents' community of Ho Chi Minh City, inaccurate and unverified information about the initial enrollment work for the 2026-2027 school year is appearing and spreading, especially the content related to the application process and school zoning policies.
More worryingly, some pages and groups also post misleading orientation content, recommending parents not to accept the results of school allocation by residential area and calling for large gatherings at the commune-level People's Committee headquarters," the document stated. See more...
