Reduced payroll, Gia Lai lacks more than 7,200 human resources in the education sector
In the 2025-2026 school year, Gia Lai province's education sector has 1,283 public preschool, general and continuing education (GDTX) institutions with 21,237 classes, 724,283 students.
The whole sector currently has 39,255 officials, including 2,889 management officials, 33,017 teachers, and the rest are staff. The total number of people assigned to work is 44,033, which includes 4,339 staff quotas supplemented by the Central Organization Committee for the province in the 2022-2025 period.
According to the 2026-2027 school year plan, the whole province still maintains 1,283 public educational institutions but the scale has increased to 21,480 classes with 735,356 students, an increase of 243 classes and 11,073 students compared to the previous school year.
Meanwhile, the payroll assigned in 2026 is only 39,627 people, a decrease of 4,406 people (about 10%) compared to 2025.
According to local calculations, to meet the scale of schools, classes and students in the 2026-2027 school year, the provincial Education sector needs 46,865 people to work, a shortage of 7,238 staff compared to the assigned number. See more...
The reason for submitting IELTS on the Ministry of Education and Training's system is still not considered for combined admission to university
Reflecting to Lao Dong Newspaper, a parent said that his child had submitted an IELTS certificate to the Ministry of Education and Training's system but had not submitted it on the private system of the National Economics University. This candidate's application was then not confirmed as valid and was not included in the combined admission method.
According to parents, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued an official letter requesting training institutions to use IELTS certificate data declared by candidates on the Ministry's admissions system to ensure the rights of candidates. However, the National Economics University still requires candidates to submit certificates on the school's system.
Parents believe that this regulation prevents some candidates, even with valid IELTS certificates, from being considered for the combined method just because they have not completed an additional step of declaration.
Regarding the above reflection, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper on July 24, Dr. Le Anh Duc - Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University said that throughout the time of implementing regular university admissions in 2026, the school has continuously publicly announced and provided full guidance on official information channels for candidates and parents to follow.
According to the school's regulations, all candidates registering for admission according to the combined admission method must submit their applications and provide evidence on the system of the National Economics University within the prescribed time limit.
