Ministry of Education and Training prohibits using public funds to give Tet gifts to leaders
The Ministry of Education and Training requests units throughout the sector to organize the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year joyfully, healthily, safely, and economically; strictly grasp the directives of the Secretariat and the Prime Minister and promote the responsibility of heads.

At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Training also requested that students absolutely not participate in the production, trading, storage, and use of firecrackers, weapons, explosives, and electronic cigarettes; strictly implement regulations on firecracker management. Units must ensure full implementation of the 2025-2026 school year plan immediately after the Tet holiday.
The Ministry of Education and Training requests not to organize visits and Tet greetings to superiors, not to use public funds to give Tet gifts, not to use public assets against regulations; officials and party members set an example in practicing thrift and fighting superstition. University rankings: 11 Vietnamese universities with industry in the top of the world
Times Higher Education (THE) announced the world university rankings by field in 2026, in which Vietnam has 11 universities with majors ranked in 9/11 fields. The ranked fields include: Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics, Computer Science, Educational Research, Engineering, Life Sciences, Health and Health, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences. Notably, this year Vietnam for the first time participates in the Arts and Humanities field with the representative being Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
In the Technical field, there are many Vietnamese universities ranked first with 9 representatives, of which Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University achieved the highest ranking (group 301-400). In Business and Economics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics leads in group 301-400, followed by many large universities such as Vietnam National University Hanoi, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University also maintain high rankings in many other fields such as Life Sciences, Physics and Social Sciences.
2026 recorded two new Vietnamese universities joining, Da Nang University and Nguyen Tat Thanh University, in which Nguyen Tat Thanh University achieved a fairly good ranking in Health and Health, Life Sciences. See more...
Overtime tuition for public school teachers is calculated one and a half times, up to 200 hours
Circular 21/2025/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates the regime for paying overtime wages for teachers in public educational institutions, effective from September 23 and repealing Joint Circular No. 07/2013. However, the payment of overtime wages in the 2024-2025 school year continues to be implemented according to the old regulations in Circular 07/2013.

According to Circular 21, overtime teaching fees are calculated at 150% of the normal hourly salary, with a total of 200 hours of overtime teaching/year for each teacher. In case of exceeding 200 hours due to a shortage of teachers, the head of the educational institution must report in writing to the competent authority.
