Tasks of the Acting Minister of Education and Training and Deputy Ministers
Acting Minister Hoang Minh Son has just issued a decision assigning tasks to the Ministry's leaders. Accordingly, the Acting Minister directly leads and comprehensively manages the Ministry's activities, directly directing fields such as education development strategy, personnel organization, planning - finance, school facilities, education socialization, legal affairs, inspection, administrative reform, press - media, science and technology and digital transformation. The Acting Minister is also in charge of many units and major universities, and jointly monitors centrally-run cities.

Standing Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong is in charge of general education, preschool education, teacher development, student stratification, general education quality accreditation and work related to diplomas and certificates. He also helps direct the development of regulations on high school graduation exams, national excellent student exams and is in charge of citizen reception, complaint and denunciation resolution in the sector.
The remaining areas are assigned to Deputy Ministers: Nguyen Van Phuc in charge of higher education, university quality accreditation, national defense - security education; Deputy Minister Le Quan in charge of vocational education, continuing education, student affairs, international cooperation and mass mobilization. National Economics University increases targets, opens new training majors
National Economics University announces regular university enrollment in 2026 with about 9,000 quotas, an increase of about 3.3% compared to 2025. The school enrolls 88 majors/programs, adding 15 new codes, including training programs in Vietnamese, English, application-oriented programs (POHE), advanced and high-quality programs.
Among the new majors, the school plans to open a number of fields associated with modern economic trends such as Financial Technology, Digital Economy and Applied Mathematics, along with many English-language training programs such as Marketing Technology, Logistics Technology and Supply Chain Management, Internal Audit, Quantitative Risk Management, Statistics and Smart Business, Health Economics...

The enrollment method in 2026 remains stable as the previous year, including direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (3% of the quota) and admission based on high school graduation exam scores or combined admission (97%). List of schools considering competency assessment exam scores of Hanoi National University of Education
Hanoi National University of Education has just announced 38 higher education institutions using the results of the SPT competency assessment exam for enrollment in 2026, an increase of 13 schools compared to last year. This year's list expands to many fields such as engineering, technology and medicine, instead of mainly teacher training schools as before.
In the medical and pharmaceutical block, three schools use the results of the SPT exam, including Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Tokyo Medical University, of which two schools participate in admission based on the results of this exam for the first time. In the technical - technology block, some schools have just applied this method such as the Academy of Cryptography Techniques, the University of Transport Technology and the East Asia University of Technology.
The SPT competency assessment exam was first organized in 2022. In 2026, the exam will take place in two phases on May 23-24 and May 30-31 in many provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Son La, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Da Nang and Gia Lai.
