Priority policies in university admissions in 2026
The Ministry of Education and Training promulgates the university admission regulations for 2026 with clear regulations on priority points by region. The priority point level applied to region 1 (KV1) is 0.75 points, region 2 rural areas (KV2-NT) is 0.50 points, region 2 (KV2) is 0.25 points; region 3 (KV3) is not counted as priority points. The candidate's region is determined according to the place he studied at high school (or intermediate, vocational high school) for the longest time; if the time is equivalent, it is calculated according to the last school. Candidates are entitled to regional priority in the year of graduation and an additional year.

Regarding priority points according to policy beneficiaries, group UT1 (subjects 1-3) is added 2.00 points; group UT2 (subjects 4-6) is added 1.00 points. If candidates belong to many priority areas, they will only enjoy the highest level. These score levels apply to the total score of 3 subjects on a 30-point scale (without multiplication of coefficients); if using another scale, they will be equivalently converted.
For candidates achieving 22.50 points or higher (according to the 30-point scale), priority points are calculated according to the adjusted formula: Priority point = [(30 - Total score achieved)/7.50] × Priority point level. This calculation method aims to gradually reduce the bonus points in the group of candidates with high total scores, ensuring fairness in admission consideration. See more...

Nghe An seeks solutions to regimes for 234 contract teachers and staff
The Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that it is coordinating with relevant units to advise the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee to allocate targets and funds for 234 teachers and contract staff who still face difficulties in salary and regimes. Previously, the Department issued a document responding to the recommendations of some teachers and contract staff in the old Nam Dan district regarding the delay in paying salaries and related benefits.
According to the Department of Education and Training, the unit has reported the list of 234 cases to the Department of Home Affairs, and at the same time worked with the Department of Finance and localities to review needs, implementing Decree No. 111/2022/ND-CP. However, many communes said that due to limited budget resources, in 2026 they cannot allocate funds to pay for these contract teachers and staff.
Currently, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Finance are coordinating to report to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, advising on solutions to ensure compliance with legal regulations and workers' rights.
