Additional admission to grade 10 HCMC: Schools are lacking students, places receive applications exceeding the quota

As of August 1, many schools such as Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Phu Nhuan, Nguyen Hue, An Nhon Tay, Phong Phu... still lack dozens to more than 200 quotas but have received very few or no admission documents. Meanwhile, some schools such as Dien Hong, Nguyen Thi Dinh, Go Vap have nearly or exceeding the additional enrollment quota.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, 2025 is the third year the city has organized additional admissions for grade 10 to create more opportunities for students who do not pass all 3 initial wishes, especially students in suburban areas. Nghe An border school damaged 1.8 billion VND due to floods

After the historic flood, Muong tip 2 Primary School (Ky Son District, Nghe An) was covered with mud, broken tables and chairs, and school equipment and the kitchen were washed away or severely damaged. The estimated damage is up to 1.8 billion VND - a huge number for border schools that are already lacking.
Teachers and border guards are making efforts to overcome the consequences, clearing the huge amount of mud with empty hands, bucking pots and shovels. Many teachers were exhausted and moved to see the scene of the school being devastated while the new school year was approaching. The biggest concern is that students cannot continue to attend boarding school, leading to a high risk of dropping out of school.
Muong tip 2 School is a bright spot in the boarding model for ethnic minority students, contributing to maintaining the student population in remote areas. The principal urgently called on the community to join hands to support the restoration of schools, because it is not only about overcoming facilities, but also preserving the future of students at the border.
