In 2025, Hanoi will have more than 1,500 more places in grade 10 public schools
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training plans to put into operation 3 new public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year, including: Do Muoi High School (Hoang Mai District), Phuc Thinh High School (Dong Anh District), and a school in Cau Giay District. Each school will enroll about 10 classes, equivalent to 1,500-1,700 students.
The establishment of additional schools aims to increase the rate of students studying in public schools, meeting the needs of the people. When the schools are completed and put into operation, the Department will have a suitable enrollment plan, ensuring fairness and convenience for students even though they have previously registered their wishes.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi will have nearly 103,000 candidates taking the entrance exam for non-professional public grade 10, while the enrollment target will increase to 79,740 students, an increase of about 3% compared to the previous year. See more...
The Ministry of Education and Training expects many policies to benefit teachers and staff
The Draft Law on Teachers is being considered by the National Assembly for approval at the 9th Session of the 15th tenure, stipulating many preferential policies for teachers. In particular, the salary of teachers will be ranked highest in the administrative career salary system, along with allowances by region and work nature. Teachers are supported with regular training and health care and are allowed to retire up to 5 years earlier if they meet the conditions, without having their pension rate reduced.
The Ministry of Education and Training is soliciting opinions on the Draft Decree to increase preferential allowances for preschool teachers to 45% in favorable areas and 80% in disadvantaged areas. For the first time, school staff are proposed to receive an allowance of 15-25% depending on their position, to recognize their contributions and help stabilize the support team in the school.
The draft of a new circular on the regime of tutoring time for teachers to quit the payment conditions, limit the maximum number of tutoring hours each year of teachers and educational institutions. For preschool teachers, the tutoring time does not exceed the provisions of the Labor Law, and other teachers shall not exceed 150 hours/year. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just announced the results of a surprise inspection of Than Dong 8 Foreign Language Center at 1232 Quang Trung, Go Vap District. This center has been licensed to be established but has not been licensed for educational activities and there is no decision to recognize the director.
Although there is no operating license, the center still shows signs of organizing teaching and advertising, many English programs and organizing 4 English classes for children. The center also collects tuition fees from May 1 to 31, 2025 and posts advertising content beyond the permitted functions.
The Department of Education and Training concluded that the Center showed signs of violating regulations on educational activities and required all activities at the above location to be immediately stopped, and the tuition fees collected for learners were refunded according to the law.
