The Ministry of Education and Training informs about the arrangement of the 4- subject program
The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just sent an official dispatch to Departments of Education and Training nationwide to collect comments on the revision of the general education program. This adjustment aims to adapt to the rearrangement of provincial-level administrative units, reducing the number of provinces to 34 from 63, and at the same time, in line with the two-level local government model.

4 subjects proposed to revise the curriculum and textbook include: Citizen education grade 10, History grade 10, Geography grade 12 and a combination of History - Geography from grade 4 to grade 9. The main adjustment content is related to the political system, the Constitution, topics on state - law, historical periods, regional boundaries, administrative maps and socio-economic factors by region.
The issuance of a Circular amending the general education program will be the legal basis for editing textbooks, ensuring that the teaching program is close to reality. Note for students before the deadline to submit additional applications for grade 10
In the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City has 37 high schools in Area 1 enrolling additional grade 10 students due to not meeting the quota. Trung Lap High School has the most additional admissions with 262 targets, followed by schools such as Phong Phu High School (207 targets), Nguyen Van Tang (181 targets), Da Phuoc (169 targets), Ngo Gia Tu (150 targets)... In addition, some schools with high benchmark scores such as Tran Dai Nghia, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Phu Nhuan also participated in additional admissions.
The condition for students to participate in additional admission is that they have taken the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City, have not passed any wish list and have a total admission score (including exam scores and priority points) equal to or higher than the 1 wish standard score of the registered school. The application must be submitted directly to the school for a limited period of time, and cannot be changed after submission and the deadline for receipt is 4:00 p.m. on August 11. Schools are not allowed to exceed the announced targets.
This is the third year that Ho Chi Minh City has organized additional admissions to grade 10. In 2024, there will be 36 participating schools with more than 2,200 targets, but only more than 1,400 students will be admitted, reaching a rate of 63.54%. Tightening extra teaching and learning in Dien Bien, violations will be inspected and punished

The People's Committee of Dien Bien province has issued Decision No. 31/2025/QD-UBND regulating extra teaching and learning in the province. The regulation applies to all relevant organizations and individuals. The Provincial People's Committee assigns responsibility to authorities at all levels, departments, education departments and schools in monitoring, inspecting, handling violations and managing funds related to extra teaching activities.
Out-of-school tutoring facilities must ensure sufficient facilities, fire safety, environmental sanitation and valid business registration. Continuing education centers can only organize extra classes if they meet the conditions for establishment according to Decree 125/2024/ND-CP and must notify the People's Committees at the commune level. When stopping operations, the facilities are responsible for refunding tuition fees and paying teachers.
Extra teaching in schools is funded by the budget and legal sources; extra teaching outside of school must collect tuition fees in accordance with local economic conditions. See more...
