Standardizing high school graduation exam questions to ensure fairness
After the 2025 high school graduation exam, many candidates reported that the Math and English exam was too difficult, not suitable for the abilities of grade 12 students according to the output standards of the new program, especially the English exam exceeding B1 in terms of language and complexity.

The exam board explained that this year's exam was created using random matches to ensure objectivity, avoid rote learning, thereby encouraging students to study real and take real exams. Although the new approach to the test is innovative, it has caused students and teachers to be "shocked" because they have not been able to adapt. Experts and teachers say that such a drastic change requires clear preparation and training processes to avoid putting too much pressure on senior students.
Many opinions suggested that it is necessary to standardize the exam questions through practical testing, assessing the difficulty and suitability before officially applying them. The development of the test must ensure accurate reflection of output standards, while still being consistent with the test duration and thinking ability of students. Experts also emphasized the importance of transparency in the test-setting process and the role of supervision and reasonable coordination from the Ministry of Education and Training to make the exam fair and effective.
