Expected formula for converting university admission scores
The draft guidelines for university admissions in 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training provide a formula for converting admission scores to unify the methods. Accordingly, universities must convert scores between admission forms to a common scale, instead of maintaining different coefficients as before.
The conversion is based on data on high school graduation exam scores or original academic records, statistical analysis from previous years to determine the correlation between academic results and admission scores according to each method. Schools must divide their scores into at least 3 regions (excellent - good, good, achievable) and build three linear functions for each region to ensure accuracy when converting.
For example, if a group of candidates has a high school graduation exam score of 24.75 and a high school transcript score of 25.75 at the excellent - excellent level, or 20.5 and 22 at a fairly good level or higher, schools can use these values to establish a conversion formula between the two admission methods. Proposal for early retirement for preschool teachers attracts attention
At the National Assembly Delegation Conference, full-time opinions on the draft Law on Teachers were given on the policy of allowing preschool teachers to retire before the normal retirement age but not more than 5 years, provided that they have paid social insurance for 20 years or more. This policy helps preschool teachers, who have a hard job in both teaching and caring for children, to choose to retire early without having their pension rate reduced.

Many teachers agree with this proposal, saying that it is suitable for the characteristics of the profession. Preschool teachers face great work pressure, long working hours and high physical requirements such as singing, dancing, and drawing. However, some teachers expressed concern about the conditions for 20 years of social insurance contributions, because not everyone meets the requirements due to late job placement or work interruptions.
