Request to clarify the incident of a 120,000 VND meal at a boarding school
Parents of students at Quan Hoa Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Thanh Hoa) reported that boarding students' meals have less food than they need, especially for high school students. Currently, each student has a quota of 50,000 VND/day for three meals, of which 20,000 VND/meal includes gas and spices. A meal for 6 students costs 120,000 VND, but many students think that the amount of food is not enough.

In response to this reflection, on March 25, the school met with the Parents' Representative Board to find a solution. It is expected that in the near future, the school will implement the form of dividing separate meals for each student instead of eating by meal as at present. At the same time, gas and spices costs will be separated to ensure more filling meals.
The People's Committee of Quan Hoa district committed to inspect the incident on March 26 and provide appropriate solutions. If negative findings are discovered, the district will strictly handle them to protect the rights of students. The school currently has 197 students living and eating in the boarding area. See more...
