On the morning of October 6, in Phu Tho, the Ministry of Education and Training held a conference to summarize and evaluate the implementation results of education and training contents under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas (CTMTQG DTTS&MN) for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to the period 2026 - 2030.
Implementing the DTTS&MN General Education and Training Fund, in recent years the education sector has played a core role in improving the quality of human resources, strengthening the specialized school system and promoting illiteracy eradication (XMC). The Ministry of Education and Training is assigned to preside over 3 main tasks/sub-projects, including:
Project 4.2: Investing in facilities for public service units operating in the field of ethnic work, including the Central Highlands University, Tay Bac University, Truong Huu Nghi T78 and Truong Huu Nghi 80. The project capital plan for the period 2021 - 2025 is more than 1,333 billion VND from the central budget; by June 2025, the Ministry has allocated 670.644 billion VND, reaching 50.3% of the plan.

Project 5.1: Innovation of activities, strengthening the development of Ethnic Boarding Schools (PTDTNT), Ethnic Boarding Schools (PTDTBT), schools with Boarding Schools (HSBT) and XMC. The Ministry has developed capital plans for 42 localities worth nearly VND 8,075 billion.
Project 5.3: Project to develop vocational education (VET) and create jobs for workers in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. The total capital is more than VND 12,620 billion.

As a result, with the 4.2-project, in localities, many boarding schools, vocational schools, and high schools with boarding students have invested in facilities and equipment: 1,212 teacher's service rooms; 6,114 boarding rooms for boarding and boarding students; 1,186 clean water and sanitation works; 272 ethnic cultural and educational activities; 5,470 normal classrooms and subject classrooms; 1,110 other auxiliary works; purchased 986,435 teaching equipment...
The project has also organized 4,752 classes with 95,033 participants; 93 classes on training and coaching for managers, teachers, and people participating in XMC work with 4,670 people...

With the project 5.3, by June 30, 2025, 238,958 ethnic minorities have been supported with vocational training; supported 1,679 people to work abroad; supported capacity building for 11,908 officials; provided job counseling and referral for 140,024 people, of which 19,136 workers were successfully signed contracts after job counseling and referral...
The program clearly demonstrated the Party and State's concern for the education of ethnic minority areas. Many vocational schools, vocational schools, and high schools with continuing education have upgraded facilities, ensuring safe living and learning conditions.
