On May 18, the Minister of Education and Training issued a decision on the reappointment of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha to the position of Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University with a term of appointment of 5 years.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha was born in 1972 in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics in the period 1991-1995; completed a master's program in Development Economics between Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and ISS Institute (Netherlands) in the period 1995-1997; received a PhD in Economics from Aberdeen University in the period 2006-2009 on a state budget scholarship of 322.
He was recognized with the academic title of Associate Professor of Economics in 2013 and awarded the academic title of Professor of Economics in 2020.
Before working at Ho Chi Minh City Open University, he worked at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Investment in the period 1997-2003.
From 2003 to now, he has been attached to Ho Chi Minh City Open University and has held many management positions such as: Faculty of Postgraduate Training, Department of Training Management, Department of Organization and Personnel, Department of Cooperation - Science Management, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Finance - Banking.
In 2017, he was appointed as Vice Rector, in charge of regular university training, postgraduate training and international cooperation. In July 2019, he was appointed as Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University for the term 2019-2024 and continued to be reappointed in 2026.
