In response to the incident of To Hien Thanh High School (Ha Dong, Hanoi) illegally enrolling 174 10th grade students, on the morning of November 21, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) said that the Department will open a management system to add information about 10th grade students of this school to the database of Van Lang High School.
The time for students to officially transfer schools will be agreed upon by both parties and their parents. The Department notes that this should be done early so that students do not interrupt their studies.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Phuong, Principal of Van Lang High School (Dong Da District) - the unit receiving these students - said that the Department allowed them to recruit 600 10th graders but they were not enough. The missing number matches the number of students at To Hien Thanh School.
After the Department's decision, the school will meet with parents to agree on the admission plan and study location.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, To Hien Thanh High School (Ha Dong District, Hanoi) was discovered by parents to be illegally recruiting because the Hanoi Department of Education and Training did not assign a quota for grade 10.
174 10th grade students were admitted to this school and have been studying for more than two months, but their names are not on the system, causing parents to worry that they will not be able to take the high school graduation exam later.
The school was later administratively fined and had to apologize to parents and students. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that if necessary, it would recommend that the city revoke its operating license and transfer the case to the police.
