The ceremony was attended by Mr. Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City. Also attending were leaders of Hai Phong City, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, leaders of departments and bureaus under the MOET and departments, branches, sectors and localities.
This year is the 20th consecutive year that Hai Phong City has organized a ceremony to honor outstanding students. With the theme “Hai Phong students - Bright knowledge, solid skills, building the country”, this year's ceremony is held to encourage and motivate students to continue to compete in studying and practicing better; contributing to promoting the work of encouraging learning and talent throughout the city.
At the ceremony, the city honored and rewarded 139 outstanding students. Of which, 3 students won international prizes, 1 student won regional prizes; 81 students won first, second and third prizes in cultural competitions, the National Science and Technology Competition for the 2023-2024 school year, the UPU International Letter Writing Competition in 2024; 31 students graduated with honors or higher from universities in the city and Hai Phong students graduated with honors or higher from universities, colleges and academies nationwide; 23 Hai Phong students took the high school graduation exam for the first time in 2024 with high scores and were admitted to universities, colleges and academies at home and abroad.
The city spent nearly 1.4 billion VND from the budget to reward outstanding students at the program.
Through the commendation ceremony, students of the city compete and strive to achieve high achievements in studying to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 17th City Party Congress and the 14th National Congress of the Party. Along with that, it arouses in students the spirit of patriotism and love for the city; dynamism, creativity, pioneering, and proactive participation in building and defending the Fatherland, serving the community, contributing to the implementation of the goals and tasks of building Hai Phong into a leading city in the country in the cause of industrialization and modernization.
