On February 7, Phu My Dong Commune People's Committee (Gia Lai) said that it had concluded to verify the content of the denunciation of the collective of teachers of My Thang Primary School No. 2 (Phu My district, former Binh Dinh province; now Phu My Dong commune, Gia Lai province) related to financial revenue and expenditure at the school.
Regarding the content of the denunciation about the collection and spending of English tuition fees for grades 1 and 2, Phu My Dong Commune People's Committee determined that the school collected money from parents. However, Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Suong - Accountant of My Thang Primary School No. 2 - used budget money (regular expenditure source) to pay salaries to contract English teachers twice, with a total amount of more than 25 million VND.
Regarding the assignment of financial management tasks, the school did not arrange a cashier, and all financial revenue and expenditure work was performed by Ms. Suong. Ms. Suong also took on the work of a cashier, using the account and digital signature of Mr. Le Van Kha - Principal of My Thang Primary School No. 2 - to approve financial documents.
In particular, Phu My Dong Commune People's Committee discovered many serious violations in regular revenue and expenditure activities from 2024 to September 30, 2025. Accordingly, it was determined that the principal and school accountant had legalized documents and withdrawn money for personal use with a total amount of more than 1.3 billion VND.
In which, creating false dossiers and sending them to the State Treasury to withdraw more than 297 million VND without paper documents; Ms. Suong created false documents, bought fake invoices to spend for individuals with an amount of more than 665 million VND; The school board confirmed irregular expenditures of more than 246 million VND; embezzled more than 25 million VND from hiring English teachers; discovered more than 107 million VND of false expenditures through reviewing all officials.
Most of the wrongly spent money was transferred to the accounting relatives' accounts (husband, children and younger siblings), with a total amount of more than 1 billion VND.
In addition, most of the equipment purchased by the school in the 2024-2025 school year is not true to reality, lacking many compared to the vouchers that have been paid through the State Treasury.
From the verification results, Phu My Dong Commune People's Committee determined that Ms. Suong was directly and specifically responsible for intentionally creating false documents, buying invoices, illegally using the principal's digital signature, transferring budget money to personal and family accounts, causing particularly serious damage to the state budget.
The Principal of My Thang Primary School No. 2 is responsible as the head for lax financial management, lack of inspection and supervision; assigning accountants to keep digital signatures against regulations, signing and approving false documents, creating conditions for accountants to appropriate assets.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Minh Thong - Chairman of Phu My Dong Commune People's Committee - confirmed that the locality has transferred the entire case file to the Provincial Police Investigation Agency for further investigation and handling according to regulations. When there are handling results, the locality will inform the press.
