According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, 5 pm today (July 14) is the time to end the registration, adjustment and arrangement of university admission aspirations in 2026 on the common admission system.
Before the system closed, experts said that candidates should not adjust their aspirations according to the psychology of the crowd or chase after industries that are considered "hot". Instead, it is necessary to consider the overall balance between abilities, interests, career orientation, job opportunities and learning conditions to make a suitable choice.
MSc. Cu Xuan Tien - Head of the Admissions and Student Affairs Department of the University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) said that in the context of digital transformation, international integration and the increasing demand for high-quality human resources, the choice of majors needs to originate from competence, interests and long-term career orientation, instead of chasing after "hot" majors.
The 2026 enrollment season has many new points, so candidates need to proactively follow information from the Ministry of Education and Training as well as training institutions, especially the registration, adjustment and confirmation of aspirations timelines so as not to miss the right to admission consideration.
Regarding the arrangement of aspirations, he recommends that candidates be divided into three groups including desired aspirations, aspirations suitable to their capacity, and safe aspirations. The aspirations need to be arranged according to the correct level of priority, from high to low, because the system will automatically consider the highest aspirations that candidates meet the admission conditions.
For majors belonging to the pedagogical, military, police blocks or those with separate admission conditions, candidates need to carefully study the regulations and fully complete the requirements according to the regulations of each training institution.
In addition, Mr. Cu Xuan Tien said that many universities this year are implementing scholarship programs of great value, not only for students with excellent academic achievements but also for candidates who win prizes, have talents or achieve high results in other admission methods. Candidates should learn early to take advantage of tuition and financial support policies during their studies.
Agreeing with this view, Dr. Pham Tan Ha - Director of the Admissions Counseling Center of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) - recommends that candidates should maximize the number of nguyện vọng they are allowed to register and arrange them in the correct order of priority.
According to Dr. Pham Tan Ha, the enrollment system only considers the highest aspirations that candidates meet the conditions for admission. Therefore, candidates need to arrange aspirations from their favorite majors and schools to contingency plans, instead of arranging according to predictions of admission chances.
He also noted that before pressing the registration confirmation button, candidates need to carefully check the school code, major code, admission method code and admission combination. In fact, every year there are still cases of incorrectly entering school code or major code, leading to affecting admission benefits.
Experts also recommend that in the final hours before the system closes, candidates should not change their aspirations according to crowd psychology or just rely on predicting benchmark scores. Instead, they need to carefully review registration information, check the priority order of aspirations and only confirm when they have carefully considered their choices.
