On April 2nd, VNGGames and the University of Information Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UIT) signed an agreement to implement a joint training program to develop games on Roblox, opening up great career opportunities for students of the school.
This is the first time in Vietnam that university students can build and publish game products that reach global Roblox players right during their studies.
The course lasts for 3 months, expected to open in September 2026, with 42 students participating. The entire teaching content is directly developed and implemented by 14 experts from VNGGames.
At the end of the course, each student group will complete their own game product and have the opportunity to be released directly on Roblox, ready to reach users on a global scale.
Sharing at the event, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that the global game industry is generating revenue of nearly 200 billion USD, higher than film, publishing and digital content creation, but for a long time, Vietnam has missed this opportunity due to social prejudices.

According to him, with the pioneering efforts of businesses like VNG, not only in game production but also in the strategy of systematic human resource training for the game industry, that picture is changing. "The generation of students today can for the first time earn real money from what they are learning, not only domestically but on a global scale, something we didn't dare to dream of 30 years ago," Mr. Le Quang Tu Do emphasized.
Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice Rector of the University of Information Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that this co-training program is not simply a cooperation activity but also a two-way commitment between the school and businesses to jointly build a training ecosystem associated with practice, where students learn through practical projects, led by business experts, and have a clear roadmap to become professional game creators.
According to the Vietnam Information Technology Market Report released by TopDev, by 2025, the information technology industry is expected to need about 700,000 human resources, while the current supply only meets about 500,000, equivalent to a shortage of nearly 200,000 workers. In that context, pioneering training models in the direction of "bringing lecture halls into businesses" are emerging as a practical solution to narrow this gap.
