Digital Healthcare" - Future major
According to Dr. Do Thanh Huong - Deputy Head of Training Management Department, Hanoi Medical University, the continuous development of AI today is both an opportunity and a challenge for all majors. Implementing the policy of the Board of Directors, the school is building specific tools and regulations on the use of AI in teaching, and integrating this technology into the training program for students.
Notably, in the near future, Hanoi Medical University is expected to open a Digital Medicine major - a specialty focused on the application of AI in diagnosis and treatment. The enrollment roadmap for this new major is expected to start around 2027-2028.
To prepare for this step forward, the school has been and is linking training with universities and medical education associations in the Asia-Pacific region, implementing specialized training programs for both lecturers and students.
In fact, AI has been widely applied in medical examination and treatment. Typical are large projects funded by the Australian Government for Vietnamese students at the University of Sydney, applying AI in diagnostic imaging very effectively. This is proof that AI promises to bring many breakthroughs in university training for many existing majors of the school.

Regarding current direct admission forms: For excellent student exams: Applied according to Circular No. 06/2026 of the Ministry of Education and Training for students who win international prizes in cultural subjects.
For the Science and Engineering award: The school implements according to the regulations of the Ministry. For candidates participating in the international exam sent by the Ministry, the school will establish a Selection Council to assess the correlation between the topic and the applied major. Candidates will report in English to the council to assess suitability before making a final decision.
Dr. Do Thanh Huong also added that the expected direct admission rate will still be maintained at a high level, possibly reaching 40% of the target as in the previous year. However, candidates need to note: Achieving the National Second Prize is not guaranteed to be directly admitted if the number of applications is too large. Then, the school will consider secondary criteria. Specifically, the doctoral system (6-year training) prioritizes Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics subjects; the bachelor's system can consider additional Geography subjects depending on the combination.
