New major catches up with trends

M.A. Nguyen Quang Trung - Deputy Head of Communication and Enrollment Department of Thuong Mai University - said that in 2026, the school will open a new major, "Application of Artificial Intelligence in Business", to meet the increasingly strong trend of AI application in the operation of this field.
The application of AI in economic and business fields today is an inevitable trend. The new program is expected to meet the increasing human resource needs of businesses, especially human resources capable of applying AI in business operations" - Mr. Trung said.
In addition to opening a new major, the University of Commerce also adjusted the training program towards integrating technology. Many modules have added content related to artificial intelligence application, requiring students to know how to apply AI in their study process and in their professional field.
Through this, when graduating, students can apply technology, especially AI, in professional activities at enterprises" - Mr. Trung expressed.
Important notes when applying to a school
Regarding the enrollment method in 2026, Master Nguyen Quang Trung said that Thuong Mai University maintains stable admission methods similar to 2024 and 2025, only adjusting some points to be consistent with the new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The school's admission methods for 2026 include: Admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the school (code 301); Admission according to high school graduation exam results (code 100); Admission according to the results of HSA/TSA/SAT/ACT exams (code 402); Admission combining foreign language certificates with high school graduation exam results in 2026 (admission method code 409); Admission combining foreign language certificates with high school transcripts (admission method code 410); admission combining provincial and city excellent student prizes with high school transcripts (admission method code 500).
According to the new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, this year's enrollment season, candidates can register a maximum of 15 aspirations instead of being unlimited as in previous years.
Mr. Trung said that this does not reduce the chances of university admission for candidates, because according to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training in 2025, on average each candidate registers about 9 aspirations and most are admitted before aspiration number 9.
Therefore, if candidates choose truly suitable aspirations, then 15 aspirations are still enough opportunities for admission consideration" - Mr. Trung said.
Mr. Trung advises candidates to reserve about 2-4 aspirations for their favorite school to increase their chances of admission. In addition, students should refer to the benchmark scores of recent years, especially 2024 and 2025, to compare with their scores before registering for aspirations. When the expected score is relatively suitable for the benchmark scores of previous years, the chance of admission will be high.
In addition, candidates need to pay attention to the score conversion table between admission methods, refer to, and calculate the possibility of admission for 2026.
