On the morning of September 5, in the cool air in My Ly border commune, laughter echoed throughout the yard of My Ly 2 Kindergarten as children wore new uniforms to attend the opening ceremony.
Due to the impact of the historic flood at the end of July, the main school of My Ly 2 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities in Xang Tren village was swept away, with no more classes. This year, for the first time, primary school students have to open together at the kindergarten yard.

Mr. Tran Sy Ha - Principal of My Ly 2 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - emotionally shared: "Seeing the school swept away by flood, our hearts were as broken as if cut. But we cannot let them interrupt their studies. While waiting for the new school to be built, the school had to temporarily borrow the village cultural house so that the children could have a place to learn to read and write.
In addition to temporary schools, the school has arranged teachers to stay in the village and transfer to 6 other separate schools to maintain normal teaching and learning. Despite the difficulties, the collective of teachers still encouraged each other to make efforts, try to compensate for the disadvantages, and ensure the learning program for students in the flood-hit areas.
According to Mr. Tran Sy Ha, despite many difficulties, the school's pedagogical team is determined to complete the task well, not leaving mountainous students disadvantaged during the school year.
