On June 28, information from Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that it had just issued a Decision to transfer all kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in the area to the People's Committees of communes and wards for management, according to the provisions of law, since the two-level local government system came into operation.
Accordingly, the province will transfer 476 kindergartens, 434 primary schools, 323 secondary schools and some semi-boarding and boarding schools for ethnic minorities to 130 communes and wards for management. The Provincial People's Committee requests localities to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to hand over civil servants, contract workers, land, finance, assets, working means and records and documents of schools to the People's Committees at the commune level for receipt, management and use.
Localities must also quickly stabilize the organization and clearly identify the responsibilities of departments and individuals to avoid losses. The time to complete the handover and stabilization of the organization is before July 1, 2025.
Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long said that the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Departments of Home Affairs, the Departments of Finance and relevant agencies and units to coordinate and guide the implementation of this decision based on their assigned functions, tasks and powers.
