On October 21, information from Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that it had just issued Decision No. 3235 assigning 43,094 positions of educational staff to more than 1,346 kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in 130 communes and wards across the province.
The direct assignment of staff to each school is considered an important change, helping educational institutions be more proactive in building a structure, job positions, receiving and recruiting personnel according to actual needs. This is also the basis for the education sector to ensure payment of salaries and allowances for civil servants in the 2025-2026 school year.
Along with that, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Director of the Department of Education and Training to guide localities to complete the restructuring plan, standards, number of positions, and positions in accordance with the staffing plan for 2026.
Notably, Nghe An province has reserved 21 English teacher quotas for primary boarding schools for ethnic minorities in remote communes such as Bao Nam, My Ly, Na Loi, Na Ngoi, Pha Danh, Luu Kien, Quang Phong, Nam Can, Tam Quang, Thong Thu... and added staffing to a number of other boarding secondary schools for ethnic minorities in mountainous areas.
Previously, the Central Government had granted Nghe An 1,031 new teacher quotas for all levels of education. However, according to the Department of Education and Training, recruitment is still facing difficulties because the whole industry is implementing a plan to streamline more than 1,000 positions according to the general roadmap.
Currently, the whole province still lacks more than 4,000 teachers, of which preschool and primary school are the two schools with the most shortages. To overcome the imbalance, at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, Nghe An has transferred and seconded more than 800 teachers, while increasing 82 English teachers to primary schools in mountainous areas to support online teaching.
