Ho Chi Minh City National University organizes 2 rounds of competency assessment exams
In 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City National University's (VNU-HCM) competency assessment exam will be held with 2 rounds, scheduled to take place on April 5 and May 24, 2026. Candidates can register to take the exam in one or both rounds to increase their chances of achieving good results.
The exam is held in 15 provinces and cities including: Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang, Can Tho and Ca Mau.
The exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions, 150 minutes of test time, focusing on assessing comprehensive thinking ability, analytical ability, problem solving, language use and toan.
The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam attracted about 152,800 candidates with more than 223,000 entries. The results were used by 111 schools for admission.
