On September 30, in Cao Lanh ward, Dong Thap province, Dong Thap University solemnly held a ceremony to announce the important Decision of the Ministry of Education and Training and Dong Thap University. Attending were leaders, former leaders of localities, schools, and educational institutions in the province and the Mekong Delta.

Accordingly, the decision of the Minister of Education and Training was announced to recognize Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong as Principal of Dong Thap University for the 2025-2030 term.

Speaking on receiving the assignment, Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong expressed his gratitude to the leaders, former leaders of ministries, schools and partner units that have accompanied and supported him to complete the task in the past time. Affirming that this is not only a source of pride for individuals, but also a deep commitment of the school community - a community of intelligence, enthusiasm and attachment to the education cause of the Mekong Delta and the whole country.

According to the plan, in the period of 2025 - 2030, Dong Thap University aims to achieve the vision of "Becoming a high-quality scientific training and research center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia". Mr. Thong expressed his wish to join hands with the collective of teachers and students of Dong Thap University to build an "educational ecosystem" with unique characteristics of the School with the philosophy of "Creation - Career - Integration". This will be the foundation for the school to aim for the vision of becoming a high-quality university in Vietnam according to the application orientation by 2030; becoming a high-quality university in Southeast Asia according to the research orientation by 2045.

On this occasion, the school also solemnly held a ceremony to award the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in work from the 2019-2020 school year to the 2023-2024 school year, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, including: Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu; Dr. Nguyen Hoang Anh; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung; Mr. Le Quang Minh; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Phu; Mr. Nguyen Dac Nguyen and Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Vinh Phuc.

At the same time, a ceremony was held to express gratitude to partners who have made many contributions to enrollment, training and fostering activities, including: 14 partners outside the school, 18 Principals of High Schools; 98 units and individuals in the school. The school also awarded 20 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well.
