Parents of Nguyen Trai - Ba Dinh High School (Giang Vo ward, Hanoi City) reflect that the school's parents' association and classes overcharge parents' funds and spend incorrectly on many items.
Parents of students are subject to the level of contribution to support the school, having to spend money to buy chairs for students (more than 4 million VND), spend money to paint classrooms (more than 3 million VND), spend money to buy fans (more than 1 million VND), spend money to maintain projectors, classroom sound systems (more than 1 million VND), classroom cleaning fees (500,000 VND), spend more than 12 million VND on October 20th to have enough teachers from the principal for the department and then the entire security team or 2 office blocks" - parents informed and requested competent authorities to take measures to ensure that the school and the parents' association collect and spend according to regulations, and return improper collections to parents.

Previously, Nguyen Trai High School - Ba Dinh organized the 80th anniversary of its establishment at the end of November 2025.
Regarding parents' feedback, based on the report of Nguyen Trai High School, the Planning - Finance Department, Hanoi Department of Education and Training on February 3rd said:
Regarding the policy and principles of revenue and expenditure, the school does not issue any policy on collecting fees outside regulations, does not assign targets, does not set collection levels, does not require average collection for students; does not send messages or forms of suggestion related to giving gifts, congratulating teachers on holidays; does not consider this as a responsibility, obligation or condition associated with students' learning and training.
Revenues according to State regulations are implemented in accordance with guiding documents of competent authorities, publicly and transparently.
The school regularly instructs the teaching staff to strictly implement regulations on teacher ethics; in practice, many training and review activities for students, including fostering excellent students, tutoring weak students, and preparing for the high school graduation exam for 12th grade students, even during summer vacations (after the end of the school year), are carried out by school teachers in the spirit of professional responsibility, without receiving any fees or material benefits, in any form.
Regarding revenues and expenditures implemented by the Parents' Representative Board. According to the content of information reflecting the revenues of the Parents' Representative Board of the class, it focuses on the following 4 groups: Supporting school founding anniversary; Purchasing classroom equipment (chairs, fans, classroom paint...); Expenses for holiday activities (October 20...); The Parents' Representative Board of the class "advances funds" to implement some items related to students (including personal insurance).
The items mentioned in the reflection are not in the school's financial plan, are not mandatory school fees, and are not in the list of fees organized by the school" - the Planning - Finance Department stated.
Through review, the school recorded that some contents implemented at the class level of voluntary mobilization were not appropriate, not ensuring the correct spirit of regulations, leading to concerns from some parents. The school promptly rectified, stopped implementing inappropriate contents and learned from experience in management and supervision.
From the above feedback, the school seriously draws experience in the coordination, communication and orientation of activities of the Parents' Representative Boards of classes, in order to ensure a civilized, respectful, and regulated educational environment, avoiding the emergence of inconsistent understandings among parents.
The Planning - Finance Department also informed that Nguyen Trai High School (Ba Dinh) commits to: Strictly implementing the provisions of law on revenue and expenditure in schools; Not allowing over-collection or improper collection in any form; Not legalizing, not socializing disguisedly, not allowing the Parents' Representative Board to replace the school's management role; Strengthening the responsibility of managing and supervising the activities of the Parents' Representative Board; Building a democratic and transparent educational environment, creating trust and consensus among parents.
