On September 5, Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee held a Conference to announce decisions on the organizational structure and personnel work for Tien Giang Medical College and Dong Thap Medical College. At the conference, the Provincial People's Committee announced the Decision of the Ministry of Education and Training on merging Tien Giang Medical College into Dong Thap Medical College directly under the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.
Along with the merger decision, the conference announced the decisions of the Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee on personnel work at Dong Thap Medical College. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung was appointed as Principal of Dong Thap Medical College. The Vice Principals include Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Ms. Chau Thi Thuy Hang and Ms. Truong Thi Thu Trang. Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan presented the decisions and flowers to congratulate the Principal and Vice Principals of Dong Thap Medical College.
The merger of Tien Giang Medical College into Dong Thap Medical College is carried out in the context of Dong Thap province being newly formed on the basis of arranging administrative units. This is also one of the contents aimed at continuing to consolidate the organizational structure of vocational education institutions in the province.
After the merger, Dong Thap Medical College continues to perform the function of training, contributing to providing medical human resources to serve the socio-economic development needs of the locality and the region.
