Still going to school normally after prosecution
On December 29, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Van Thanh (46 years old, in Trung Chinh commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province), the father of the female student who was beaten by a group of people, said that the family was quite upset because, after the Nong Cong district police initiated a case and prosecuted the 6 female students who participated in beating his daughter, they have not been prosecuted and are still going to school as usual.
“My child was beaten and suffered 23% injuries. After nearly 3 months, he still hasn’t recovered. He had to stop going to school until next school year. As a parent, it would be heartbreaking to see his children suffer like that. What upsets me is that after the incident, the police have prosecuted 6 students, but up to now, Nong Cong High School and Nong Cong 2 High School have not yet taken any action. The children are still going to school as usual,” Thanh said indignantly.
According to Mr. Thanh, right after the police initiated the prosecution, schools should base on Circular No. 32/2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training to come up with a solution. “Because Circular 32 clearly states that expulsion for 1 year is for cases of serious shortcomings and violations, even if it is only the first time, but this wrongdoing is conscious and proactive (not being enticed), causing great harm, endangering social property and human life. Specifically, such as theft, robbery, use of weapons, organized fighting, causing injury to others, being arrested by the police outside the school or committing shortcomings and violations of similar nature, level and harm” - Mr. Thanh said.
Mr. Thanh added that because he did not see any action from the authorities or the school, and the group of students continued to go to school as usual, he contacted and reported to the representatives of the schools whose students were prosecuted, but still did not receive a response from these schools.
"Yesterday (December 28), I sent a petition to the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, requesting that they investigate the matter and take strict and timely measures to set an example," said Mr. Thanh.
Beat your friend brutally
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, according to verification by Nong Cong 2 High School (in Nong Cong District, Thanh Hoa Province), on October 4, a female student of class 10A6, while returning from school, saw a female student of class 10A5 walking behind her talking and laughing with another friend. The female student of class 10A6 thought that her friend was talking badly about her, leading to an argument. On the afternoon of October 5, when school was out, the two female students continued to argue and quarrel. Afterwards, the school security broke up the fight and all the students went home, but when they reached Tan Phuc commune, a fight broke out.
As a result, an 11th grade female student (when she intervened to stop a group of friends from fighting) was beaten up and seriously injured (broken cervical vertebrae), and had to be transferred to Viet Duc Hospital for treatment. After a period of treatment, the female student was taken home by her family for further monitoring and physical therapy. The injury assessment result was 23%.
Regarding the above incident, on December 9, the Investigation Police Agency of Nong Cong District Police issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute 6 female students for the act of "intentionally causing injury".
The female students prosecuted include: Nguyen Thi Ngoc A (17 years old, residing in Gia Mai village, Te Thang commune); Nguyen Thi G (17 years old, residing in Thai Son village, Tan Phuc commune); Hoang Thi Huyen Tr (17 years old, residing in Dinh Kim village, Tan Phuc commune); Nguyen Thi A (16 years old, residing in Hoi Cu village, Hoang Son commune); Le Phuong D (16 years old, residing in Phu Thanh village, Trung Chinh commune); Vu Le Tr (17 years old, residing in Tho Nam village, Te Thang commune, Nong Cong district).
Among the 6 defendants prosecuted, there are 2 students from Nong Cong High School and 4 students from Nong Cong 2 High School.
