On October 14, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, welcoming more than 5,600 new domestic and international students admitted to 46 training majors.

The valedictorian of the entire school based on the results of the high school graduation exam, Doan Hoai Khanh Ly (civil society major, achieving 27.75 points) received a scholarship of 200% of the first year's tuition fee and 100% of the tuition fee for the following years.
The entire school's valedictorian - student Vu Thuy Linh (Chinese Language major, achieving 27.5 points) received a scholarship worth 180% of tuition fees in the first year and 100% of the following years.
