HCMC guides the organization of 2 teaching sessions/day from the 2025-2026 school year

HCMC - On the afternoon of September 10, the Department of Education and Training of HCMC issued instructions on organizing 2 teaching sessions/day for general education from the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training (DET) requires schools to organize the teaching time for the first and second sessions of the week to be flexible; not fixed that the first session is in the morning and the second session is in the afternoon.

Organize session 1, session 2, the number of periods for session 1 and the number of periods for session 2 of the day and week are flexibly arranged according to the prescribed time, suitable and convenient for the implementation conditions of the school, students and parents.

For first-session educational activities: Arrange the number of sessions 1 out of the total number of sessions/week to ensure enough periods/week for compulsory subjects and educational activities, selection, and study topics according to regulations in the General Education Program.

There were 2 cases of educational activities in the second session.

In case the second session is implemented from the budget: The content of the plan must be in accordance with regulations, scientific, reasonable, and effective; must be specific, clear, purpose, requirements, content, time, and location to strengthen students to complete their study content; review, and advise students with consecutive final year's subject learning results at the level not yet achieved.

Training excellent students by subject (entrance exam for grade 10, high school graduation exam review).

The Department noted that it does not use the time spent on teaching and educational activities in the second session to teach the content of subjects, compulsory educational activities, selection, and learning topics of the general education program as well as conduct inspections and assessments of students.

In the case of teaching and educational activities in the second session being socialized, it is necessary to specifically determine the bases for developing a plan; ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

The content of the plan must demonstrate the scientificity, effectiveness and necessity of socialization; the principal is responsible for the activities, implementation blocks, content framework, methods, organization forms, implementation plans and coordinating organizations and units.

Ensure the voluntary participation of students, the consent of parents and in accordance with the conditions for organization and implementation of the school (examination documents).

The collection, expenditure, management and use of contributions from parents must comply with current regulations.
