On February 17, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent an official dispatch to the heads of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and districts, principals of high schools on the implementation of Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires units to organize the implementation, dissemination, and propaganda to cadres, civil servants, teachers, staff, students, and parents about Circular 29 regulating extra teaching and learning.
thoroughly grasp that all cadres and teachers in the city's education sector strictly implement regulations on extra teaching and learning; have inspection and review plans; resolutely not allow extra teaching and learning that is not in accordance with regulations inside and outside schools.
Continue to synchronously implement solutions to implement the 2018 General Education Program to ensure quality. The establishment of regular and periodic testing and assessment questions must be consistent with the 2018 General Education Program, not causing pressure on students to take extra classes.
Absolutely do not loosen the organization of review and training for students with academic results at the level not yet achieved; organize for final year students to increase review of entrance exams and graduation exams according to the school's education plan; identify this as the responsibility of schools to help students meet the requirements to be achieved in each subject of each grade according to the regulations of the 2018 General Education Program.
Timely detect, handle and propose appropriate solutions to difficulties and problems in the process of implementing Circular 29.
For the Department of Education and Training, in addition to the above contents, it is required to strictly implement the direction of the Chairman of the Thu Duc City People's Committee and districts on guiding and inspecting extra teaching and learning activities in the area.
Focus on disseminating to primary schools about absolutely not organizing extra classes for primary school students according to the provisions of Circular No. 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Direct the head of the unit to adjust and develop a plan to implement the 2-session/day program in accordance with the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program; enhance and supplement club activities, talent development activities (art, physical education and sports...), practice life skills, ensure suitability with local characteristics and pick-up time for parents.
At the same time, it is required that the Departments of Education and Training take measures to handle according to their authority or report to competent authorities about cases of violations of regulations on extra teaching and learning in the area.
