"The school has prepared nearly 19,500 Tet gifts with a total value of about 2.8 billion VND to give to students. In addition, the school and students also carry out volunteer activities in remote areas on the occasion of Tet 2025" - Mr. Phong informed.
This year, Lac Hong University has also launched a "0 VND" Tet bus program to take students home for Tet since December. The school said it will support the bus fare for students to return home for Tet. The total budget the school has set aside to support students is more than 500 million VND.
Similarly, students from the University of Economics, Hanoi National University, University of Mining and Geology and Foreign Trade University received lucky money early. In particular, each student will receive 100,000 VND. This amount will be transferred to the students' accounts by the schools.
The University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi also supports 500,000 VND for each student staying in the dormitory during Tet or those from poor or near-poor households. On New Year's Day, the school gives lucky money of 200,000 VND/class. These amounts are taken from the school's Student Support Fund.
In the southern region, the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City said that this year the unit will continue to support students and introduce them to participate in the "Spring Bus Trip" program. For special cases, the school will find other sources to arrange bus tickets for students to return home for Tet.
As one of the schools that gives early gifts to students for Tet, the University of Finance and Marketing has launched a program to give Tet gifts to disadvantaged students. The expected number will be 50 gifts, to help students have meaningful Tet gifts to bring home to their families.
In addition, the school also plans to carry out activities in the series of programs Far from home, happy Tet. The program will count students from other provinces who choose to stay in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate Tet and take care of them. In addition to giving lucky money and supporting students with transportation costs to go home for Tet, some schools also give gifts to students before the Lunar New Year. Accordingly, Hoa Sen University gave Tet gifts to more than 10,000 students. This year's gifts were thermos bottles and Tet greeting cards written by teachers. Explaining the gift of thermos bottles, a school representative said that these are essential daily items for students.
Hong Bang International University gave Tet gifts to all 15,000 students, each with a tea set. The school's leaders said that giving gifts to students is an annual activity every Tet holiday. This will show the bond between the school, students and their families.
