The conference announced Decision No. 2345/QD-BGDDT dated August 19, 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training on the appointment of Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh to the position of Principal of Tay Bac University, term 2025 - 2030.
Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh (born in 1972) was once Vice Principal of the Central University of Art Education.
Tay Bac University currently has 2 master's degree training majors, 25 undergraduate training majors, 1 college training major with 7 faculties and many functional departments and offices.
In addition, the school also takes on the task of teaching Vietnamese to Lao students in the university reserve system; at the same time, manages Chu Van An Primary, Secondary and High School.
In the 2025 - 2026 school year, the school's training scale will reach more than 5,800 Lao students, of which over 70% are ethnic minorities. According to statistics in 2024, about 80% of students and pupils have found suitable jobs after graduation.
In the period of 2025 - 2030, Tay Bac University aims to focus on improving the quality of its staff, investing in facilities, innovating training programs in the direction of application, diversifying teaching types and methods, linking training with scientific research, serving the development of the Northwest region and the whole country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that in the context of competition and digital transformation, higher education needs to reach national level, associated with high-quality human resource training.
At the same time, it is expected that Tay Bac University will pioneer innovation, lead and disseminate knowledge, meeting the human resource development needs of the Tay Bac region, the Northern Lao provinces and the whole country.
