Ninh Thuan Province Ethnic Minority Boarding High School and Thuan Bac Secondary School are two special schools where 99% of the students are ethnic minorities. This is also considered a school that trains quality human resources so that they will later become the core to build their homeland.

According to the leaders of Ninh Thuan Province Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, before 2023, the entire computer system of the school, which was used old machines, had seriously degraded, and there was no funding for new investment. At this time, there was a need to innovate teaching and learning methods, especially the application of technology. The library system was at risk of collapsing, so the school was forced to close to ensure the safety of the students. There were books but the students had no space to read. In particular, the female students' dormitory was degraded, and the students lived in unsanitary conditions...

Faced with difficulties in facilities, which affected the students' learning, teaching and living conditions, the Golden Heart Social and Educational Fund decided to support 2 billion VND to equip the IT room with 41 new computers with full equipment for subject classrooms; repair the library, 12 female student dormitories, build and repair 4 shared restrooms for students and a communal dining room, build a new student parking lot...

And this school year, more than 280 students of the school, with more than 97% of them being Raglai and Cham ethnic groups, have been studying in a safe and modern environment. They have been updated with new learning methods from the IT room. The school library is not only more spacious and beautiful, but also equipped with more books for students to access knowledge. The quality of learning and teaching has been improved.

A happy school is where teachers and students want to go.

At Thuan Bac Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Sang - Principal of the school - said: Thanks to the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund, we have built 3 subject classrooms; poured concrete in the school yard, completed the fence to ensure hygiene and safety for boarding students; invested in a sports field and toilets for students to help them have a safe learning environment with a total cost of 2 billion VND.

“Thanks to that support, the school has developed more and more, the students study actively and proactively. The result of that change is the achievement in the 2023-2024 school year, the school has achieved more with students winning 3rd prize in the provincial Science and Technology competition, 2 excellent Literature students winning 3rd prize at the provincial level, 1 Head Teacher winning 3rd prize in the provincial Head Teacher competition; other movements have won many prizes at the provincial and district levels, the school has been recognized as an Advanced Labor Collective at the district level and is proposing to the provincial level. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school will continue to promote the achievements and use equipment and facilities more and more effectively, so that the school year will continue to achieve even higher achievements" - Ms. Sang excitedly said.

After 22 years of working at a special school for 99.2% of ethnic minority children in Thuan Bac and Ninh Hai districts, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Sang shared that the lasting bond is the love for her students. If we compare the learning conditions, the students here are more disadvantaged because they have to leave their families from the age of 12-13 to go to boarding school. At school, teachers not only teach but also coax and take care of them, not only being teachers but also being second parents to the students.

With current facilities, school students have access to better infrastructure, but with current digital transformation technology, improving expertise and paying more attention to infrastructure at all levels is still an urgent need.

According to Ms. Sang, "a happy school is one where students like to go to school, teachers like to go to school to teach, that is the happy environment. Because when they like it, they will be more positive when they go to school, teachers will have more positive and creative thinking. And that is also the goal that I and the school's teachers strive for so that the children want to go to school and not stay at home."
