These activities will contribute significantly to helping teachers feel secure on the podium, helping school staff focus on their work.

Welfare program with 500 apartments at preferential prices

At the end of January 2024, the Working Group of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the Department of Education and Training and the Nghe An Education Trade Union conducted a survey to understand the living conditions, income and working conditions of school staff in Thanh Chuong and Do Luong districts. Previously, the Vietnam Education Trade Union received 9 petitions with more than 500 signatures from school staff in the units. Of which, 76 were signed in Thanh Chuong district and 82 were signed in Do Luong district.

Accounting, clerical, librarian, administrative and equipment staff in schools have 4 main recommendations, including: Consider receiving industry-specific allowances or job-specific responsibility allowances and seniority allowances; Eliminate the form of title promotion exams and apply for promotion instead of having to take a promotion exam, which does not ensure fairness between older and younger employees, uniformity between localities and does not demonstrate capacity and experience; The salary policy for accounting staff in the education sector is still low compared to teachers and similar positions in other sectors, not really suitable for the job position; Teachers and staff are all on summer vacation, but accountants still have to go to work.

According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc An - Chairman of the Vietnam Education Union, the purpose of the survey is to grasp, understand the thoughts, aspirations and collect recommendations and proposals of school staff. From there, there is a basis for proposing to competent authorities for consideration and adjustment to ensure the legitimate and legal rights and interests of school staff. Thereby aiming to improve the quality of educational services of schools and in the entire education sector.

The Vietnam Education Trade Union always performs the function of grasping the aspirations of teachers and workers. From there, it reflects and proposes recommendations for policies related to teachers and schools to change in the direction of ensuring their lives, jobs and opportunities to contribute. The timely presence of the Vietnam Education Trade Union alongside union members and workers to record what union members and workers want to share has built trust with the union organization.

Another example, in 2023, facing the situation of teachers quitting their jobs and changing careers in many schools, the Vietnam Education Trade Union directed all levels of trade unions in the education sector to organize many activities to remove difficulties in work and life, such as accessing support resources, using funding sources from trade union organizations for support; reducing pressure on teachers through guidance on how to handle psychological crises, being ready to face and knowing how to solve problems arising in the process of educational innovation, in the process of facing increasingly complex pedagogical situations... From there, teachers correctly recognize the value of the profession, have the capacity and professional ethics to meet the requirements and are confident, love the profession, are committed and dedicated.

Not only that, the Vietnam Education Trade Union also implemented the program "Welfare for union members and workers". At the end of May, the Vietnam Education Trade Union signed a cooperation agreement with BCONS Construction Investment Joint Stock Company to agree on some benefits for cadres, teachers and workers in the education sector. The signing is aimed at helping cadres, teachers and workers in the education sector have stability in their daily lives, have space to invest, design lectures and conduct scientific research.

BCONS Construction Investment Joint Stock Company will provide 500 apartments at preferential prices suitable for the financial capacity of officials, teachers and workers in the education sector. Priority will be given to young lecturers and teachers who do not have a house and meet the criteria set by the Vietnam Education Federation.

According to the leader of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the activities of the Vietnam Education Trade Union are always accompanied by BCONS Construction Investment Joint Stock Company. The Company's preferential package for cadres, teachers, and workers in the education sector is a breakthrough, a new, bold, creative, sustainable and humane way of doing things.

Happy school model brings joy

Reality shows that in the process of working, love alone is not enough, but there must be understanding of the profession, especially the ability to face challenges from subjective to objective. Therefore, Vietnam Education Union continues to promote the spread and replication of the happy school model. Happy schools aim to form core values ​​of love, safety and respect.

In which, each member from managers, teachers, students can speak up their thoughts, have the conditions to innovate and develop their personal abilities. When implementing a happy school, teachers will have methods to overcome difficulties on their own, know how to bring positive emotions to themselves to cope with increasingly difficult and complex pedagogical situations. From there, they feel happy. When teachers are happy, they want to go to school, want to affirm their own value, they do their job well, which leads to the school having high results and happy students.

For example, in Lang Son, the Department of Education and Training of the province coordinated with the Provincial Education Trade Union to direct and guide units to focus on implementing the model "Building happy schools". In order to create a fundamental change in the awareness and actions of the staff, teachers and workers in the spirit of happy schools, all levels of the provincial Education Trade Union proactively coordinated with the professional sector to focus on building a team of teachers and basic managers with sufficient quantity and synchronous structure with more than 20,000 managers, teachers and employees in the whole sector, ensuring to meet the requirements of educational innovation.

At the same time, pay attention to the care of the teaching staff and workers, arouse the passion, enthusiasm and creativity of the teaching staff. At Cao Loc High School, Cao Loc district, the school - where there are nearly 100 union members - always focuses on building a culture of behavior in the school; promoting democracy, self-awareness and volunteerism of teachers and students in implementing the regulations of the industry and the school. To build a happy school, the school's union coordinates with the school's Board of Directors to pay attention to building a friendly school environment, creating cohesion, greeting culture, dress code and demeanor of both teachers and students.
