Today, the Government has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the New Year holiday plan for 2026.

Accordingly, the official New Year holiday schedule for civil servants and public employees lasts 4 consecutive days from January 1 (Thursday) to January 4 (Sunday).

Trade from Friday (January 2) to Saturday (January 10).

On the same day, many schools in Ho Chi Minh City announced the new New Year holiday schedule.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade announced that during the 2026 New Year's holiday, civil servants, employees and students of the school will have 4 consecutive days off from January 1 to January 4, 2026 and will return to work on January 10, 2026.

Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry also announced an adjustment to the New Year holiday schedule in 2026. Accordingly, students and trainees of the entire school will have 4 days off for Tet, from January 1 to January 4, 2026.

Meanwhile, on December 24, the University of Natural Sciences - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City proactively announced that students and trainees will have 4 days off, from January 1 to January 4, 2026 during the 2026 New Year.
