The Ministry of Education and Training is developing and finalizing a draft Decree regulating salary policies, allowances, support and attraction regimes for teachers. This is a step to ensure consistency and unity when the 2025 Teachers' Law officially takes effect from January 1, 2026.
According to the draft Decree, the new salary of high school teachers will be calculated based on the salary coefficient, specific salary coefficient and the basic salary of 2.34 million VND according to Decree 73/2024/ND-CP. This salary does not include allowances, subsidies and other benefits.
For teachers who are highly ranked and highly qualified in the salary framework, the salary can exceed 20 million VND/month. Senior high school teacher 6: 20,592,000 VND/month.
The draft Decree is continuing to be widely consulted before being officially issued. However, with the provisions finalized in the Law on Teachers, the highest salary for teachers has become a principle effective from the beginning of 2026.
The above 2026 High School Teachers' Salary table is only a draft proposal and has not been officially applied since January 1, 2026 along with the 2025 Teachers' Law.
