50 outstanding and typical ethnic minority students and youth who were commended this year represent 53 ethnic minorities from 30 provinces and cities across the country. Many students are not only good at studying and working, but also actively research science, start businesses, be creative, and contribute to the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh said that in the past time, education work in ethnic minority areas has been particularly focused on. The school system from preschool to general education has been increasingly expanded; boarding and semi-boarding schools continue to be strengthened; policies to support lunch, tuition fee exemption and reduction, support for study expenses, scholarships, enrollment, and credit for students have been drastically implemented.
Most recently, we started construction of 100 inter-level primary and secondary boarding schools in border communes; soon completed the construction of schools in 248 land border communes across the country.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Deputy Prime Minister praised and warmly congratulated 150 outstanding students and youth who were honored today. They are beautiful flowers in the multi-colored flower garden of the Vietnamese ethnic community; are the pride of families, clans, villages; are faith and hope for the bright future of the homeland and country.
In the coming time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested Party committees, authorities, departments, ministries, branches, central agencies and localities according to their assigned functions, tasks, and authority to focus on concretizing the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws on ethnic affairs with the spirit of 6 clear: "Clear people, clear tasks, clear time, clear responsibilities, clear products, clear authority", ensuring effectiveness and feasibility; taking better care of the lives of ethnic minorities in general and ethnic minority youth and children in particular.
The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs shall preside over and coordinate with ministries and agencies to direct the effective implementation of policies to develop ethnic minority and mountainous areas that have been approved by the National Assembly; target programs and projects that have been approved by the Prime Minister. In which, pay attention to training, fostering, and creating a source of ethnic minority cadres from ethnic minority students with outstanding achievements and selecting and awarding scholarships to some children who are commended this year to train abroad.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Secretaries and Chairmen of relevant local People's Committees to study and have preferential policies, pay more attention and care for the development, recruitment, and use of high-quality human resources for ethnic minorities, mountainous areas, border areas, and islands; focus on implementing and completing the construction of 100 inter-level ethnic boarding schools in land border communes that have been started recently, ensuring progress and quality in accordance with the spirit of the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat in Conclusion No. 81-KL/TW dated July 18, 2025.
Outstanding ethnic minority students and youth should always maintain their beliefs and will; strive to overcome difficulties and challenges; nurture the will to rise up, ambitions, dreams, and aspirations to contribute, maintain the achievements and precious virtues and qualities of ethnic minorities, and in the future become good and useful citizens, contributing to the village, the nation, society and the country.
Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs Y Thong affirmed that today's ceremony is not only a ceremony to honor but also a profound message, affirming the consistent and long-term concern of the Party and State for the young generation of ethnic minorities, the future owners of ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Vietnam.
