According to research, Viet Tri Bridge was built in 1901 under the quyen nang of Indochina region of Paul Doumer. The bridge was knocked down on April 9, 1942. After the peace was restored, in 1956, Viet Tri Bridge was rebuilt, basically keeping the old architectural style. In 1992, the new bridge was rebuilt and remains there to this day.
This is a combined road and railway bridge across the Lo River, connecting the Song Lo commune, Ben got ward of Viet Tri city (Phu Tho) with Bach Hac ward, Viet Tri city and further into Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc province (only about 1.6 km from Vinh Phuc from the middle of Viet Tri bridge).

At the end of November 2013, Hac Tri Bridge (new Viet Tri Bridge) was started, in the same direction and only about 300 m downstream of the old Viet Tri Bridge to the Lo River. This bridge is 856.1 m long, 24 m wide, including 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed vehicles, with a design speed of 80 km.
Hac Tri Bridge has a total investment of more than 1,900 billion VND, of which the construction cost is 1,104 billion VND. The bridge officially opened to traffic from May 19, 2015.

Over the years, the two bridges of Viet Tri and Hac Tri have played a very important role in connecting and ensuring traffic between Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc provinces.
For vehicles traveling from Viet Tri city to Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Yen city, Phuc Yen city of Vinh Phuc province and vice versa, if they do not travel on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, almost all of them will pass through these two bridges.

Not long before Hac Tri Bridge was built, another bridge across the Lo River connecting Viet Tri city with Song Lo district was opened to traffic at the end of 2012. That is Song Lo bridge with a construction value of more than 1,808 billion VND under the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway construction project.
Song Lo Bridge is one of the largest bridges on the above-mentioned main route, built with prestressed reinforced concrete, with a length of 833.5 m, the main bridge with reinforced concrete box girder is continuously cast with 3 main spans of 110 m and the side span of 78.5 m; width of 16.25 m...

The latest bridge built connecting Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho provinces is Vinh Phu bridge. The bridge started construction in August 2022, after about a year, and was officially opened to traffic at the end of August 2023 (finished about 4 months ahead of schedule), helping to connect Viet Tri city and Song Lo district.
This project has an investment of more than 540 billion VND, invested by the Vinh Phuc Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
