Soc Trang - leaders of Soc Trang province directly checked and urged sand mines to enhance exploitation, ensuring supply for the highway project.

On 10.2, Mr. Lam Van Man - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Tran Van Lau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee - directly checked the situation of sand mining in mines in the province. The purpose is to promote the sand mining progress to serve the component project of component 4 under the investment project of construction of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang highway project in phase 1.

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Soc Trang Province, there are 4 river sand mines (Ms 01, Ms 04, Ms 03 and MS 12) are operating and 3 mines are in the survey and evaluation phase to serve This key highway project.

For MS 01 sand mine, the average daily exploitation is about 1,600m3, basically ensuring the licensed capacity; The remaining mines have not guaranteed sufficient capacity according to the mineral exploitation license, the confirmation of the People's Committee of Soc Trang Province.

As of 5.2.2025, the total sand reserves were exploited from 4 mines reaching 0.65 million m3. It is expected that by June 30, 2025, the total amount of sand exploited will reach about 1,767 million m3 and can increase to 1,934 million m3 if MS 04 mine is increased the exploitation capacity to 50%.

At the inspection, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee - emphasized the importance of ensuring a stable supply of sand for the highway project. Mr. Lau asked contractors and sand mining enterprises to urgently mobilize more equipment, human resources and material resources to accelerate the progress, ensuring the capacity according to the granted license.

"We have to race with the time to complete this key project. The sand mining contractors and businesses must make their best efforts, ensuring the capacity according to the license. The time of solving, "Mr. Lau said.

Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee also directed relevant units to urgently carry out procedures for raising the exploitation capacity and survey to expand the mine areas according to the contractor's proposal, ensuring the completion of sand embankment.
