Previously, Lang Son voters reported that National Highway 1B, the section passing through Bac Son district, was invested in since 2000 and is now degraded.
Voters proposed to invest in upgrading National Highway 1B passing through Bac Son district.
Responding to the above content, the Ministry of Transport said that according to the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 1B has a total length of about 145 km, of which the length through Lang Son province is about 101 km, with a scale of 2 - 4 lanes.
Currently, due to resource difficulties, it is not possible to allocate capital to invest in the route in the period 2021 - 2025.
The Ministry of Transport said that in the process of developing a medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030, based on the ability to balance resources and the principles of capital allocation according to regulations, the Ministry of Transport will report to the competent authority to invest in this national highway section.
In the condition that the investment in the route has not been implemented immediately, the Ministry of Transport will continue to direct the Vietnam Road Administration to strengthen maintenance and repair work from road maintenance sources to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic on the route.
