On September 24, the Ministry of Transport said that in 2024, the unit assigned the Vietnam Road Administration 23 billion VND to repair National Highway 45 and National Highway 16 through Thanh Hoa.

Voters of Nhu Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province requested the Ministry of Transport to soon invest in upgrading and expanding National Highway 45 from Nhu Thanh district to Nhu Xuan district.

According to voters, this section of the highway is narrow, and there are many workers going to work, not meeting the demand.

Voters of Quan Son district, Thanh Hoa province also proposed investing in expanding National Highway 16, the section connecting from National Highway 217 to the adjacent area of ​​Son Ha commune.

Responding to this issue, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) said that according to the Road Network Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 45 through Thanh Hoa province is 166km long, level III - IV scale, 2 - 4 lanes.

Current status of the section from Nhu Thanh district to Nhu Xuan district, about 16km long, scale V, 2 lanes.

National Highway 217 through Thanh Hoa province is 210km long, level III - IV scale, 2 - 4 lanes; the current status of the section connecting from National Highway 217 to the adjacent area of ​​Son Ha commune is about 2.5km long, level VI scale, 1 lane.

"Currently, due to resource difficulties, the Ministry of Transport has not been able to allocate capital to invest in National Highway 45 from Nhu Thanh district to Nhu Xuan district and National Highway 217 connecting from National Highway 217 to the adjacent area of ​​Son Ha commune, Quan Son district in the period of 2021 - 2025," the Ministry of Transport explained.

The Ministry of Transport added that in the process of developing the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030, based on the ability to balance resources and the principles of capital allocation according to regulations, the Ministry of Transport will consider reporting to competent authorities to invest in the above sections of National Highway 45 and National Highway 16.

In the immediate future, to meet people's travel needs, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to repair damaged road surfaces, dredge longitudinal ditches, and traffic safety systems...

In 2022 and 2023, the Ministry has allocated about 120 billion VND, and in 2024 about 23 billion VND to continue maintaining and repairing, ensuring safe and convenient exploitation of National Highways 45 and 16.
