Taking advantage of favorable weather at the beginning of the year, contractors constructing a series of bridge projects over the Red River are mobilizing maximum manpower and machinery, organizing many parallel construction teams, determined to stick to the "track" of progress to bring the project to the finish line as committed.
On February 25, records at the Tran Hung Dao bridge construction site showed that the construction atmosphere is very urgent. Currently, 10 construction teams are simultaneously operating, including 6 teams constructing main bridge pillars and 4 teams constructing the approach road on the Long Bien side. The main pillars have completed drilled piles and are moving to the stage of constructing steel plank piles.

Worker Tran Dinh Kiem (Trung Chinh Joint Stock Company) said that from the morning of the 5th day of Tet, after short New Year wishes, workers returned to work. "About 70% of the brothers stayed at the construction site throughout Tet, the rest returned to their hometowns to reunite but all returned to work right from the 5th day, determined to celebrate spring but not forget their duties," Mr. Kiem shared.
Similarly, worker Luong Thanh Do (Dat Phuong Joint Stock Company) said that the force working throughout Tet only takes leave on the 29th day of the twelfth lunar month, and has returned to construction since the afternoon of the 1st day. "Progress is urgent, with the leadership's concern and family encouragement, the brothers are all ready to stay," Mr. Do said.

According to Mr. Tran Trong Huy - Deputy Director of the Tran Hung Dao Bridge Construction Investment Project Board (Sun Group), the construction site currently mobilizes about 140 people, including 100% field engineers, mechanics, electricians... All machinery and equipment such as cranes and drills have been fully gathered. It is expected that by February 26, the contractor will add 45 more workers to accelerate construction.
To date, all underwater drilled piles of TC2 to TC6 pillars have been basically completed, each pillar consisting of 20 piles with a diameter of 2m, more than 50m deep, exceeding the schedule by about 1 month compared to the plan. Pillar TC7 has completed the bottom blocking concrete, and the foundation and piles are expected to be completed in March 2026. The goal is to complete all piles and foundations before May 2026 - the time when the minimum flood starts - to ensure conditions for construction of the pillar body.

In the approach bridge section on Long Bien side, bored piles are also being deployed simultaneously, striving to complete the entire project in April 2026. According to Mr. Huy, if the minimum flood level is not exceeded by the end of May 2026, the project is at risk of being delayed by 3-4 months due to rising water levels, making it impossible to construct under the river.
Parallel to Tran Hung Dao bridge, the Ngoc Hoi bridge and approach roads at both ends of the bridge connecting Hanoi with Hung Yen are also being accelerated. Currently, 100% of personnel are present at the construction site, and contractors are organizing 10 construction teams, including 2 teams under the river and 8 teams on the shore.

On the construction site stretching through Bat Trang commune (Hanoi) and Van Giang commune (Hung Yen), units are focusing on leveling the ground, processing steel cages, and constructing drilled piles for the main bridge piers and approach bridge piers. The project has a total length of about 7.5km, of which the main bridge over the Red River is about 680m long with 2 tower pillars identified as the "stepping stone" of progress.

After 6 months of implementation, the contractor has completed 26/80 bored piles for tower piers. At package 07/TP3-EPC, the processing of steel cages and bored pile construction have been continuously deployed since mid-February. According to the construction site commander, the construction teams are organized flexibly, striving to complete the piles and main pier bases in accordance with key milestones so as not to affect the overall progress.
According to the approved plan, the Ngoc Hoi bridge project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2028. However, the Project Management Board and consulting units, contractors are researching technical solutions to shorten the progress by about 6 months, striving to complete in the second quarter of 2027 according to the direction of the City Party Committee and Hanoi People's Committee.
