Standard flight after infrastructure upgrade is completed

On the afternoon of July 23, Mr. Van Bach Anh Tuan - Deputy Director in charge of Lien Khuong International Airport - said: On the same morning, the unit officially deployed a flight inspection and calibration of the navigation system and air traffic lights after completing the upgrade project.

According to the approval of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the standard flight phase takes place from July 23 to the end of July 28 to comprehensively inspect and evaluate the navigation systems and traffic lights that have just been invested and renovated before being put into operation.

During this time, Lien Khuong International Airport coordinates with Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation, Southern Airport Authority and related units to organize flight operations, security and safety supervision and carry out procedures according to regulations.

Standard flight results will be the basis for the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to evaluate, accept and license the commissioning of technical systems.

Expected to resume 36-40 flights per day

According to the plan, Lien Khuong International Airport will reopen from August 19, 2026 after a period of temporary suspension of operation to serve the construction of the upgrade project.

It is expected that in the initial phase, the airport will operate an average of 36-40 flights to and from each day, connecting with localities including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh, Can Tho and Hai Phong.

The Da Lat - Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) international route is also expected to be restored with a frequency of 8 round-trip flights per week.

In the first day of reopening, Lien Khuong International Airport is expected to serve about 28 inbound and outbound flights.

The completion of the upgrade project and putting new infrastructure into operation is expected to improve aircraft reception capacity, meet passenger transportation needs and contribute to promoting tourism, socio-economic development of Lam Dong province and the Central Highlands region.
