Localized congestion appears
In the afternoon of September 1st, records at the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway towards the center of Hanoi city recorded localized congestion due to the increased number of vehicles.
According to reporters' records, vehicles proactively maintain a safe distance, moving at a slow but stable speed, helping the entire expressway still ensure smooth and convenient traffic.
Hanoi diverts traffic from afar to welcome traffic back after the September 2nd holiday
It is forecast that the number of vehicles returning to the Capital will increase from the afternoon and evening of September 1, the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police mobilized 100% of personnel, proactively diverting traffic early, remotely and exploiting AI camera systems to ensure safe and smooth traffic.
Vehicle traffic volume may increase rapidly on expressways, national highways, ring roads and radial axes. Areas at high risk of pressure include Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, Phap Van intersection, Ring Road 3, Thanh Tri bridge, National Highway 1A, Thang Long Avenue, National Highway 6, National Highway 32, Vo Nguyen Giap - Nhat Tan bridge axis and Thang Long bridge.
Implementing the plan of Hanoi City Police on ensuring security, order, and traffic safety during and after the holidays, the Traffic Police Department has deployed a plan to regulate and divert traffic when people return to the Capital. Traffic police teams in charge of the area proactively monitor vehicle traffic, promptly detect the risk of congestion to organize remote traffic diversion, and limit vehicles from being concentrated on one route or intersection.
The Traffic Police Department mobilized 100% of its personnel, strengthening forces at key routes, city gateways, bus stations, train stations and areas with high vehicle density. Task forces maintain duty, ready to handle accidents, damaged vehicles, obstacles and arising situations.
At the southern gateway, functional forces monitor traffic flow from the Hanoi - Ninh Binh expressway, National Highway 1A and the southern main road into the center. When traffic volume increases or incidents occur, forces will coordinate to divert traffic at the Cau Gie - National Highway 1A intersection, Van Diem underpass, Thuong Tin station intersection, Phap Van intersection and Ring Road 3 connecting routes. In the West and Northwest directions, forces are deployed on National Highway 32, Thang Long Avenue, National Highway 6 and intersections with National Highway 21A.
Some routes through Ho Chi Minh Road, provincial roads 316 and 317 are being prepared as traffic diversion plans when the main axes are overloaded. In the North and Northeast directions, functional forces are monitoring the Hanoi - Lao Cai, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen, Hanoi - Bac Giang expressways, National Highway 2A, National Highway 3 and intersections with National Highway 18, Vo Van Kiet, Vo Nguyen Giap.
