Hanoi Transport Corporation (Transerco) said that in the first 6 months of 2026, the unit maintained stable production and business operations, basically completed the tasks assigned by the city, and continued to play a key role in the field of public passenger transport by bus.
According to Transerco, in the first half of the year, the corporation completed ordering the provision of public passenger transport services for 3 bus routes and re-auctioned 19 routes, of which 11 routes were converted to using electric buses. Along with that, 53 electric buses have been put into operation to replace diesel vehicles, contributing to the implementation of the green transformation roadmap in public transport.

Regarding operation organization, the unit has adjusted the routes and service targets of 21 bus routes, strengthened connections to Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park and areas with high travel demand. At the same time, 52 inadequacies in infrastructure serving bus operations have been reviewed and handled.
In the first 6 months of the year, Transerco inspected more than 46,000 vehicles, thereby reducing the violation rate by nearly 40% compared to the same period last year. The customer care department received more than 55,700 feedbacks.
The total operating volume of the system reached more than 1.55 million vehicles, equivalent to 93.5% of the plan. Passenger volume increased by 3.3% compared to the same period in 2025.
In other areas of operation, passenger car volume through stations reached more than 356,000 trips, down 4.5% compared to the same period, while bus volume increased by 2.1%. Vehicle parking activities continued to grow by 4%, reaching more than 3.7 million trips. Repair, maintenance and driver training services still maintained positive growth.

Regarding the green transformation roadmap, Transerco has put into operation 281 electric buses on 17 routes to date. It is expected that in 2026, the unit will continue to convert an additional 320 vehicles on 26 routes, increasing the proportion of electric buses to more than 51% of the total number of vehicles.
In parallel with vehicle conversion, Transerco continues to promote digital transformation through the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in customer care, deploying automatic switchboards, Zalo platforms, fan pages and cooperating with telecommunications businesses to develop transport management and operation solutions.
However, operational activities still face many difficulties due to unsynchronized traffic infrastructure, driver shortages and the fact that many traffic projects are being implemented at the same time.
In the last 6 months of the year, Transerco sets a growth target of 12%, continues to improve service quality, accelerates the roadmap to switch to electric buses, deploys electronic ticket cards and improves working conditions for employees.
The unit also said that it will continue to closely follow the city's direction, strengthen corporate governance, apply science and technology to improve operational efficiency, and maintain its core role in the capital's public passenger transport system.
